Our First Trip to the Oregon Coast

In late March we went on a trip to the Oregon coast to visit family. Although it rained and poured, we were lucky enough to get breaks in the weather that were wonderful for going on wagon rides on the beach.

When the weather was bad we played inside and spent time with family. It's always fun hanging out with our uncle Ryan and uncle Chase.

We loved watching the waves crash while we ate.

For one break in the weather Dad, uncle Ryan, uncle Chase and grandpa Mark went crabbing in the boat. We can't wait until we're old enough to come along.

Dinner with Aunt Chrissy and Uncle Eric

On Saturday we went to dinner at aunt Chrissy and uncle Eric's house.  We ate a really good dinner and had a lot of fun hanging out with our aunt and uncle.

Of course we had to explore the new terrain.

Dinner at Granzellas

On Friday the 13th we went to dinner at Granzellas with our uncle Brandon, Mima and Gpaw.  The scariest things that happened were us and dad bumping drinks over.

All during dinner Trenton napped, so William was free to entertain everyone.

Wagon Rides

With the weather turning towards spring, dad finally took the time to put our wagon together.  It was the perfect time.  The time change has given us time in the evenings to go on wagon rides while it's still light out.

William left, Trenton right

When we go for wagon rides the dogs get to come with us and explore.  Mostly we have been going for wagon rides around our house, and out near the almond orchard behind the big barn.  There are always fun things to see out there, from birds to squirrels to tractors and machinery, it all amazes us.

Dinner Out and Babysitting

On March 7th mom and dad got the chance to go out for dinner with Trenton's god parents, Joe and Clarice.  Although we know they hate being away from us, they said they had a lot of fun eating at a nice resturant.  And we had a blast being babysat.

Joe (aka. The Godfather) with Trenton........................William flirting with Clarice

We got to play with Nemo the dog, and explore some new surroundings.  We played so much, that when mom and dad came to pick us up we were tuckered out asleep.  Dave & Kathy are great babysitters.

Griff's 50th Anniversary

March 6th was Griff's Feed & Seeds 50th anniversary.  After a quick checkup with the doctor we headed to Griff's to have lunch and hangout for the afternoon.  It was a lot of fun spending time with family and hearing old stories about the family store.

Visiting Griff's and Exploring

We love to visit our Gpaw at Griff's during the week.  It is always a lot of fun hanging out in the office, and being carried around to see all the animals.

With our increased mobility we have begun to explore everything around us.  Some times we like to squirm during meals which makes a mess, but we don't mind, we think it's pretty funny.

Grandmas and Family Weekend

On the weekend of February 21st we got to see lots of family and spent time with two of our grandmas.  On Saturday we had dinner at Nana and Popa's house.  It was fun  to sit around and catch up with everyone.

On Sunday we went to our grandma Sue's house for a visit from our great aunt June and our Sumi cousins from the city.  We played on the floor the whole day while our cousins did projects and played games.

Visitors, Fevers and Crawling

In February our "uncle" Kyle came to visit for the Presidents Day weekend.  While he was visiting we had a couple of big firsts.  Trenton had our first fever, and had to nap his days away to feel better.  While the floor was openly available, William crawled for the first time.

After "uncle" Kyle headed home, Trenton gave his fever to the rest of the family and we all got sick one at a time.  William was very nice and played quietly while everyone rested, until it was his turn to be sick.

Learning New Things

We have been laughing and babbling so much lately.  While we play with our toys and eat Cherrios before dinner, we love to chatter back and forth.

Superbowl Sunday!!!

For Superbowl we jumped in the car and drove up to Redding to spend the day hanging out with Gpaw and Mima, playing and watching the game.

Trenton playing with book...........William rolling around

Because everyone else had so many good choices of appetizers and finger foods our Gpaw picked out a special jar of baby food for our Superbowl snack.  We love fruits mixed with bananas!  By the end of the game we had played so much we were ready for a nap on the ride home, what an exciting day.

Four Legged Friends and Having Fun

Nana and Popa went away for the weekend and we got to watch the wiener dogs.  Peppers and Dieter hung out and watched us roll all over the floor playing with our toys.

Then we went for a stroller ride around the yard.  The dogs decided to stay in the house and nap.

Not only have we been playing with our toys constantly, we've been getting up to some mischief lately.  We've learned that remotes have lots of fun buttons to push and we can get anywhere in the room by rolling.

Booster Shots and a Relaxing Weekend

On Friday the 9th we went to Davis to get our booster shots, and dad went to see his doctor.  Although our shots didn't feel great, they didn't stop us from having a fun day, we played and played until William and dad were so tired they had to take a nap.

The New Year

In the new year we have been growing and changing alot.  Mom and dad's favorite change has been us regularly sleeping through the night.

We are so easily distracted while eating lately. Trenton loves to grab his toes, and William loves to sit up while eating.

Our First Christmas

We had a lot of fun for our first Christmas.  Little did we know all the fun toys we would get, or how much time we would get to spend with family.  At our house mom and dad had decorated a Christmas tree just for us.  It was our first Christmas tree.

For the weekend of the 20th we went to Redding to see our Gpaw and Mima.  We had alot of fun driving around and looking at Xmas lights.  We opened our first Christmas presents, mostly just pulling off the bows and biting them.

For Christmas Eve we had dinner at Grandma Sue's houes with Grandpa Pat, Dawn, Sean, Tru,  PJ, and Casey.  We sat around the fireplace after dinner, laughed and passed around gifts.  We always like seeing our cousin Tru, she's so much fun to play with.

On Christmas day we went to Nana and Popa's house, where mom made us all brunch.  Our great grandpa, Dada was there too.  We hung out for the afternoon, and then had dinner with our great grandma Barbara and the Cole's.

Then we got to pull some more bows off of presents.  We were starting to get the hang of it.

Pictures with Santa!

We got to meet Santa Claus! Mom and dad took us to the mall to do some shopping and let us tell Santa what we wanted. We were so excited to meet him, and mom and dad were happy we are too young to be scared of him yet. Neither of us cried, we were both all smiles.

Our First Thanksgiving

For our first Thanksgiving we were lucky enough to get to go to Oregon to spend some time with our Oregon family.  We were so excited to see everyone because we only get to see that side of the family every 3 months or so, and we really missed them.

As soon as we got there the fun started.  First we got to see our Uncle Chase play the quarter-finals football game for his highschool team.  Everybody bundled up and headed into the stands to enjoy the game.

Mom and dad with us boys bundled up in the stands.

Uncle Chase is number 80 (light wide reciever)....................They won the game, on to semi-finals

During our holdiay we took lots of stroller rides, visited with lots of friends and family and traveled to a lot of fun places.  With all the fun we had big appetites.

We had fun taking baths in the sink, especially because then we never had to miss out on whatever was going on in the kitchen.

When you're in the kitchen you had better watch out for Tiger though.  He pulled sneek attacks on mom, dad and the rest of the family all week.  Luckily he likes us, what a basket case.

For Thanksgiving we spent the day having family time and relaxing as much as possible.  Everyone played with us lots while they watched movies, and football.

Before we headed home we got to go to our very first Duck game, it was Civil War at Reser Stadium.   Of course the Ducks won!  It was an extra special day, because at the same time uncle Chase's team won the semi-finals game and were headed to Oregon State Finals.

It was so much fun spending Thanksgiving in Oregon, hanging out with our uncles was a blast.

"Uncle" Kyle visits from Oregon

In October our "uncle" Kyle came to visit mom and dad, so we got to spend some fun time hanging out, and "uncle" Kyle gave mom and dad a little bit of time to relax.  Since "uncle" Kyle has nephews our age, he was great at helping to feed, entertain and calm us.  We got to go shopping with mom and "uncle" Kyle in Old Sac which was also a blast, until a train scared William.

Visiting Great Grandma Paula and Meeting our Sumi Cousins

Sunday August 31st we made a trip to visit our great grandma Paula and great aunt June, and to meet our Sumi cousins.  We had fun hanging out with our cousins Jocelyn and Aubrey and their mommy Christine.  It was also nice because great grandma Paula and great aunt June fed us our bottles.

Our First Trip to Oregon

For our first trip to Oregon mom and dad had finally figured out every thing we needed for a road trip. So with the car packed will all our necessities and definately our swings, (we had forgotten them before) we started our drive. We couldn't wait to meet our Thomas side of the family, including our uncle Ryan and great grandparents.

After we arrived we started meeting our big family. Dad went golfing with grandpa, great uncle Bill & uncle Ryan, and us boys went to run errands with mom and grandma Kathleen. We had a fun time being held by everyone, and seeing Oregon for the first time.

On Friday night we got to go out for dinner at mommy's favorite mexican resturant with lots of family and friends.

Family & friends

On Saturday we met even more family and friends at the party grandma & grandpa Thomas threw. The party was a blast, and we loved being held and entertained by so many people. It was really exciting to meet the other set of twins in the family, our cousins Conner and Sophia.

Meeting Aunt Cathy & Uncle Ted

The weekend of August 16th, we got to meet our great aunt Cathy, who came all the way from Albuquerque, NM. And our great uncle Ted visiting from Vallejo, CA. We also got to celebrate our great grandpa "Dada's" birthday. It was a fun weekend, and we even swam for the first time.
First we visited uncle Ted at grandma Griffith's house. He did a great job holding us, and even helped mom out by feeding William. Of course grandma Griffith was always willing to hold us and help feed us too.

Great uncle Ted with William ............... Grandma Griffith with Trenton

Then we went over to Nana and Popa's house for a birthday party for Dada and to spend some time with our great aunt Cathy. While we were there, mom, dad and Popa took us swimming for the first time. At first we thought we hated it, and cried. But then we realized it was fun to splash in the water and kick our feet. Swimming isn't so bad after all.

A Look Back to the Thomas' Visit...

So we just received these great photos from the Thomas' of their trip to visit us right as we arrived home from the hospital. Unfortunately Uncle Ryan was not able to come down for the trip because of his college finals, but Uncle Chase was lucky enough to get out of school & sports practice for a few days to come visit.

We had such a great time getting to meet our grandpa, grandma and uncle but we were so small then we weren't awake very much. Won't they all be surprised when they see how big we have gotten this weekend when we come up to visit (weekend of 8/23). And we can't wait to finally meet our Uncle Ryan. Back then we didn't cry that much either, oh how things have changed : )

Uncle Chase holding William & Grandpa Mark .........Uncle Chase holding Trenton, Grandma Kathleen holding William

Our uncle Chase was so adept at holding us, we were both lucky to get to spend so much time with him. Although, for him it was probably just like cradling a football. Of course Auntie Chrissy was always close by too. She is the best aunt in the world.

Here we both are in a laundry basket. Because no one wanted us too far away they had to think up a way to let us nap that allowed us to be moved about the house. A laundry basket proved to be the perfect solution, its just like a portable little crib, and we will nap just about anywhere.

A Nice Long Weekend With Family at the Coast

So this week (8/4) mom and dad once again ran around like whirlwinds packing and preparing for our weekend at the coast. We can't wait. Thursday night dad rushed through the door, threw everything in the car and we all drove to Sea Ranch on a long windy road, but we slept most of the way so we didn't really notice. We started out our vacation by sleeping in on Friday morning and making fun of dad for sleeping through any number of disturbances, including photos. Then we got up and dressed up in our cooler weather clothes, we love our hoodies.

Dad sleeping in with Trenton.........................William in his hoodie, the color scheme is thanks to color blind dad

Friday afternoon the rest of the family arrived and we couldn't have been more happy. There were more arms to hold us all weekend than we could hope for. All we had to do was fuss just a little and we were doted upon. Of course mom and dad took this opportunity to ditch us and go for a walk along the coast.

(8 photos above taken: 8/8/2008)

The rest of the weekend was spent napping, eating and making merry while relaxing and enjoying time with everyone. A few of the many highlights included mom and dad doing a puzzle & going for an awesome bike ride, Popa and Eric going golfing, mom and Auntie Chrissy making wonderful dinners for everyone including a 25th anniversary dinner for Nana & Popa, and everyone having a blast during many great games of cards.

And way too soon it was Monday and time to pack up and head home. But we all had a blast and can't wait to do it again.

The 4th brings Godparents & Gpaw

For the second month in a row we got to see Trenton's godparents on the 4th, coincidence? Also as it was a Monday night Gpaw stopped by for some dinner and baby time. Although we didn't get to be the center of attention all night, everyone stopped paying attention to us during dinner, we were hardly set down otherwise.

We sure like it when friends and family come to visit, its not just fun for mom and dad, we usually get held the whole time which we love. And if you are wondering about William's godparents, we had dinner with Auntie Chrissy and Uncle Eric on the 2nd and see them quite often, but for one reason or another we still have not remembered/gotten a picture of William with both of them. Well we will keep on trying.

Auntie Chrissy Wednesday

Over the past 2 months we have all had a lot of fun visiting with family and friends, and although we have missed those that live far away, we have been fortunate enough to see a number of them every week. Our Auntie Chrissy has been at our house almost ever Wednesday since we were both born. Although she has dinner and watches shows with mom and dad, we know it's all about us!

Dinner with our Lord Protector Goduncle & Holly

On Tuesday July 29th, mom's good friend Holly came to visit. She is living on the east coast so we were lucky to catch up with her. She came over in the afternoon and helped mom feed us and hung out until dad got home. Then our Lord Protector Goduncle (Alex) and "Uncle" Ryan came over and we all went to dinner.

Meeting Tru

On July 27th we finally got to meet Tru, Pat's granddaughter, our cousin. By chance we were in Colusa when we got a call from grandma Griffith to swing on by her house. When we showed up Tru and her mom were there for a visit. We are lucky she is so close in age (~9months), we can't wait to play with her cause our dad and her mom had a lot of fun being friends throughout school, they were the same class.

From left: Trenton, Tru and William
(taken: 7/27/2008)

After taking this picture Tru showed us how she is learning to crawl inside on the carpet. We think that made mom and dad nervous for when we start to crawl. When that happens, watch out...

Sleep Happens...

Here are some cute pictures of the boys after their 4am feeding. It has been nice and cool at night lately so the boys have been all bundled up to sleep. The boys sometimes get to sleep in their boppys, in with mom, once dad has gotten up for work.

Often times while holding or feeding one of us boys it can quickly turn into a nap for mom or dad. Here is one time it happened with mom. She works so hard all day long, how great is our mom.

A Weekend in Redding

July 24th-26th we went for the first of three weekends away in the next month and a half. We went to visit Gpaw & Mima at their house in Redding. Being the closest of our trips it was perfect, because mom & dad got a test run at packing all our stuff for a weekend. They figured out quick what they should have, and should not have brought. Next time they won't forget our swings, which are the best at occupying us while mom & dad are eating. When we arrived the first thing we did was meet our Mima and Uncle Brandon.

Mima (Diane) holding Trenton, Uncle Brandon holding William
(taken: 7/24/2008)

Over the next two days we spent as much time as we could possibly get with our Mima and Gpaw. Which gave mom and dad some time to take naps. They loved that. And we couldn't have been more happy, all we had to do was fuss and someone would almost immediately pick us up and cuddle us.

Of course over the weekend mom & dad weren't the only ones who napped. We boys always make sure to take our fair share, and after all our time, wide eyed, with Mima & Gpaw who could blame us.

Relaxing and Visiting...

Lately we have been staying awake for much longer after eating. We have been noticing bright lights, colorful objects, and following mom and dad's voices. We have really enjoyed sitting up in our boppies just looking around the room.

For the weekend of July 18th-20th, we all tried to spend some family time together and give mom a little break from taking care of the us. As you can see what mom spends everyday doing wore dad out in 1 single feeding. Our dad trys hard, but he has nothing on mom's feeding skills.

The Evil Doctor...

So maybe it wasn't the doctors fault, it was actually mom and dad that planned it, but on July 17th we got circumcised. The good news was, we got to go to breakfast with mom, dad, and our "Auntie" Lisa first. Breakfast was extra nice because it kept mom's mind off of our afternoon appointment. Mom had been fussing about our appointment almost as much as we do.

When we got to the doctors office mom was very stressed out. We were all surprised, because usually she is the really calm one.

Mommy a little bit worried for her boys

At the appointment everything went wonderful and we found out that we were both over 8lbs. We didn't even mind the procedure, we just didn't like the way they had to strap our arms and legs down. We also discovered something amazing: GRAPE TYLENOL! after a month and a half of living with only one flavor can you blame us?

Unfortunately that wasn't the end of our day. Once home and relaxing in our grape flavored dreams, William started to bleed a little much, and after a call to the doctor we were on our way back to the hospital for our first ER visit.

Our ER visit was about what you would expect: busy place, 3hrs waiting, quick fix. In the end the bleeding stopped itself and we were back home with no more worries and more grape Tylenol. What a long day...

Meeting our Great Grandma Paula

On Sunday, July 13th, we took a car ride with mom and dad to meet our Great Grandma Paula and our great Aunt June. Our grandma Griffith was also there when we showed up. GG Paula was so excited to see us and hold us, but first everyone had to wait until we woke up.

We had a busy weekend, but we couldn't have had more fun.

Ava's 1st Birthday Party

Saturday July 12th was our cousin Ava's first birthday, and she had a ladybug party. Before the party us boys had to get cleaned up because we can sure make a mess. Mommy gave us a bath, while dad packed up everything we needed for the day ahead.

At the ladybug birthday party their was lots of sweet stuff to eat. Unfortunately mom & dad had to eat our share for us.

We had a fun time meeting our cousin Ava. She thought we were little dolls for her to play with, just wait until we grow up...

4th of July & Our Godparents

Over the 4th of July weekend we spent time with Joe and Clarice Myszka our close family friends. We BBQ'd for the 4th, and over dinner mom and dad asked Joe and Clarice to be Trenton's Godparents. William's Godparents are Auntie Chrissy and Uncle Eric who mom and dad previously asked.

Due to the shortage of Godfather spots, Alex Struckmeyer, another close family friend has also been appointed as "Lord Protector Goduncle" for both of us. On Monday July 7th we attended Alex's birthday party. Also at the party was our "Uncle" Ryan not to be confused with our biological Uncle Ryan.

A way to tell them apart

Although mom finds it immediately apparent who she is holding, our family, friends and sometimes even our dad get us mixed up. But we have good news. Trenton has a birthmark! His birthmark is a small red spot located on his lower back. Even though this makes it difficult to tell them apart fully clothed, we are hopeful that as they grow they will look like the individuals they are. As you can see from the picture we have also become very close to our dogs. Both Charger and Pocket have accepted us and decided to take it upon themselves to protect us at all times. Any time we begin to cry the dogs can be found close by making sure everything is okay. When we aren't crying the dogs often take naps in the other room, but are never far away.

Car rides put us to sleep...

At our appointment on June 10th our weight was finally above five pounds, and we were okayed to ride in our new car seats. Mom and dad think our new car seats are great because we fall asleep during car rides and they can take us into the house without waking us up now.

Now that we can use our new car seats we are visiting even more people. So we decided to stop back by and see Grandma Griffith.

Other things that put us to sleep are: laying on our mom or dad, our swings, and eachother.

Coming Home

While we stayed in the hospital and for a few days while we stayed at Grandma Griffith's in Colusa, a contractor was installing all new double pane windows at our house. After our second, brief, stay at the hospital we were finally able to move home. Mom and dad had prepared a very nice nursery for the boys to move into.

Dad took our first week at home, in Williams, off from work, so we spent lots of time continuing to bond with him and mom. We also spent lots of time napping

In the first week home we got a lot of visits and even went to see family once or twice. At nana (Cynthia) and popa's (Steve) we had a pie waiting with our name on it. So mom and dad took us over for some good BBQ. There we got to see our Great Grandpa Charlie and our Great Grandma Barbara.

Our Ride Home

We spent about 5 days hanging out at the hospital with the boys. William had a little case of jaundice which kept us a day longer before we could go home. Otherwise the boys were just happy to relax and meet their mom & dad.

For our ride home the boys had to ride in special car seats because they were under 5lbs. The hospital let us borrow some, bassinet like, car seats to keep them safe until they gained a little weight.

For our first checkup (after a week) the doctors determined that William was a little bit jaundice, and asked us to check him back into the hospital.

He was put on a blue light board to lower his bilirubin count. While William was in the hospital Trenton got to go out to dinner with family.
